Yesterday, while laying on the bed listening to the dryer make the usual noise and Bigshot singing out loud an old song which was stuck in his head for some apparent reason, I slept like a baby who just cried for a straight two hours. Yes, I was THAT tired. But the moment I woke up the next day and decided to check my Facebook, I knew my day had not started off quite well. It always so happens that whenever I check social media the first thing when I wake up, my mood turns from dopey to cranky. And in order to compensate such feelings, I act like everything is under control and a little extra chirpy for my own annoyance. So as I wasted my entire energy trying to be goofy and pleasant when I sat down in front of the computer, sentences could hardly be framed and imagination had taken the route less traveled.
So as I stared and stared into my computer screen, longing for words to form in my brain, I realized it was the last day of February. And I had completely forgotten about my Appreciation diary which I started writing from last month. With so much of enthusiasm of finally having something to talk about, I started writing the blog post only to realize that there are hardly anything that I’m grateful for this month. I blame it on the month actually, it was too short and we hardly did anything. But when I read what I had written in my January appreciation diary, I felt happy and blessed to have written down the things I’m grateful for, which on any day I would have completely taken for granted. So even though I hardly have a few things to be grateful for this month, other than than the obvious ones like food, clothing, water, a house and my loved ones which I’m eternally grateful for by the way, let me write down the few new things that happened in February that I appreciate.
1) Valentine’s Day is something Bigshot and I hardly care or worry about as two individuals, but somehow he took it upon himself to buy me a gift and surprise me. Honestly, it felt really good to receive a gift out of the blue and I could not stop smiling the entire evening when he gave it to me. It almost felt like I had a hanger inside my mouth. So I’m grateful for this Valentine’s day because he might not do something like this the next year. And I might not be as surprised like how I was this year.
2) Bigshot and I finally found our favorite snack to eat after a meal. We have a cupboard in our kitchen exclusively for stocking up on unhealthy junk food and snacks and most of the times the things I like, he doesn’t and the things I hate, he loves. So our excitement went into overboard when we both loved it. It’s a wafer we found in the Indian shop and we can finish an entire pack in a go.
3) We are so happy we finally started watching Game of Thrones which was a discovery we are highly appreciative about. We knew that the show was extremely popular and everyone was talking about it for a long time. But I’m glad we started watching it now and I’m pretty sure we would finish the entire show till season 6 by the end of next week.

That’s it! These are the few things I’m grateful for this month and to have a snack item on it shows how pathetic the list is this month. Like I said, March will be better. At least, I’ll have a few more things to be grateful for. So until next time, Happy Appreciation Day, everybody! 🙂

I’m an ordinarily odd person who is pleasant to talk to. When I’m not trying to be funny, I would be lying on the floor bawling my eyes out. I write weird stories, real life snippets, traumatic and dramatic memories along with doses of unsolicited advices. 🙂
