28 Things About Myrtle Beach Trip

A short weekend getaway to Myrtle beach was planned for a long time but we never got around to actually making that trip a reality due to some reason or the other. Therefore this weekend we decided to make it before the winter approaches and I thought since I’ve a challenge going on in my blog, it will be interesting to write down about a trip in numbered form. Hopefully it will be enjoyable for you to read.

  1. Myrtle Beach is a place in South Carolina which is near to North Carolina (Where we live) and it reminded me so much of Goa in India the whole time we were there.
  2. We went on a Saturday morning and reached back home on a Sunday evening and it was the least hectic journey we ever had.
  3. Since we went on the fall season, the climate was extremely chilly and there were no water sports or any water themed games going on.
  4. In fact, we were not even able to touch the beach water because it was icy cold.
  5. However, the  beautiful view of the beach and the sound of the waves compensated for it. img_0251
  6. Since we went on an unseasonable time, there were lesser crowd and that only meant great access to the beach, hotels and restaurants.

  8. I never thought that horses would be part of a beach and they apparently are common there.
  9. If horses are common in the beach their poops are too, so you should always watch out for poops in the sand otherwise they will get stuck in your shoe and the smell will never leave you alone. This may or may not have happened to me.

  10. We were able to have the most amazing freshly caught sea food for the entire time we were there.
  11. I saw the sun set while walking on the beach side and it was a spectacular sight. img_0261
  12. We went up to the pier to have a better view and found that everyone was catching freshly caught fishes on their fishing rod.

  16. I tried to befriend few of the birds around and most of them were either showing attitude or a lack of interest in me. img_0266img_0257
  17. I spent one hour on the beach looking for a better shaped shell on the shore to take home. And found 3 of them 🙂
  18. We tried salt water taffy for the first time in our lives and they tasted like the eclair toffee we get in India but with different flavors. img_0255
  19. Speaking of which, I almost broke my teeth trying to break it into half.
  20. We roamed around the downtown of Myrtle Beach and out of all the rides available we rode the only ride which was least scary for us, the sky-wheel. 😀 img_0254
  21. The entire downtown of Myrtle beach and the beach was visible from the top.
  22. The day we stayed in Myrtle beach was the day there was full moon because of which we could see the ocean even at night.
  23. The next day morning we woke up to a bright sunrise and it was a blissful moment. img_0253
  24. We went to an apparently famous candy store and bought excess amount of it only to regret it later on, most of them tasted sour rather than sweet. And ironically the shop’s name was I Love Sugar.
  25. The day we were leaving the place it started raining, I don’t know why that is important to say.
  26. Throughout the whole trip I was asked for my ID everywhere and people kept calling me sweetie, sweetheart and honey. Smh!
  27. Bigshot and I had a wonderful car journey were we talked about politics, science and technology.
  28. We also talked about travel,languages and childhood and now if you know each of us, you can guess who started which topic.
  29. Lastly I’ll end with one of the lamest joke Bigshot said on the car ride back home because of which he was not allowed to talk to me for one hour. img_0265
