Everyone says you can’t predict what’s going to happen in your life the next day or even the next minute. Something dramatic or a small thing can somehow change your life around in a fraction of a second. You would obviously assume by now something of that sort has happened in my life. No. But nothing of that sort happened in my life since I wrote my last blog post on Wednesday and it’s been a long week. However, I’ve been struggling internally for the past one week over my lack of exercise in life. And I wouldn’t call it exactly an internal conflict mostly because I sit around talking about it to Bigshot whenever possible. Our small discussion in the beginning would turn into a serious plan by the end of it and all we have to do is execute it, starting the next day.
For an example, recently we decided to start going for a morning run, which we think would be an excellent start to a day. I would keep the alarm for 6 and he would keep the alarm for 6:30 just in case I don’t get up or cave in for some extra sleep. You see, we had covered all loopholes in our perfect plan so that the execution would be a smooth process. Little did we know that it would backfire so fast when neither of us woke up that day to either of the alarms and slept till 7:30. The Spring season is finally upon us and we no longer need to cover us over in blankets after blankets because Greensboro is getting warmer. While people say winter is the perfect time of the year to comfortably sleep in, I might be the only person who finds it fundamentally impossible to do so. The layers of blankets that we use to cover ourselves up to sustain the cold would eventually make me warm and suffocated, only to throw them away in my sleep. And as I wake up in the morning with an ice-cold body of mine shivering away in pain and numbness, all I want to do is get up and scram to the loo immediately for some warm water. Spring however, is a refreshing time where you don’t need blankets to keep you warm except for your bed sheet and comforter, which wouldn’t make you want to throw it aside in the middle of the night. So as I wake up in the morning, I’m neither feeling warm nor cold and it is the perfect time to curl up inside and sleep.

Starting from this Monday, the same scenario has been repeatedly happening in this household till today when I woke up late after keeping alarm again for 6. Perseverance is a strong word to be used by a loser like me who can’t even listen to the morning alarm but I think eventually I’m going to succeed in my vision. A vision where along with consuming healthy food the necessity to have a good exercise and a balanced lifestyle is equally relevant to complete the circle. We even went around the tennis court in our community a week back to find motivation to maybe start playing in the evening. Even though I run around the house doing the things that I do, I believe we need to find time everyday of our lives to do things in a proper manner and with ample dedication. So as I woke up the last three days feeling pretty shitty about my lack of commitment to do what we were supposed to do, the thought of writing a post never crossed my mind until a bunch of the sweetest readers of mine enquired about my disappearance. While I write this I’m still furious about the fact that Bigshot and I never woke up to exercise today, I find consolation in the fact that as long as I try, eventually one day I would get up listening to the alarm. And since I wrote about it, it would further motivate me to wake up because I would be humiliating myself if I don’t do it sooner now that I’ve publicized about it. LOL!
Have a beautiful day/ Have a good night, folks! 🙂
