‘Twas A White Weekend!

Hello my favorite people, how was your weekend? I hope wherever you were, you had a happy and relaxing weekend! Mine kicked off with an unexpected incident because it FINALLY snowed in here! Some of you may already know because I had posted a picture and I was busy recording everything on my Instagram Stories. I was busy binge watching Grey’s Anatomy on a Friday evening when Bigshot texted me from the office to check outside for the snow. I threw the cozy blanket that was helping me from shuttering from the cold and ran towards the balcony to see the wonderful view all for myself. However it had only started snowing for sometime and it almost felt like it’s going to stop soon and as 28-year-old with the attention span of a 3-year-old, I started going about, enjoying our Friday weekend with our protocol comfort food and a movie named I.T starring Pierce Brosnan. The food was delicious but the movie not so much, maybe because almost the entire movie I had my hands on my face! Let’s just say it was a very creepy movie.

As we woke up late the next day and started as usual scrolling through our phones in the bed, we read that an apparent snow storm is working it’s way into Greensboro and it’s going to snow till late afternoon. I jumped from the bed in excitement and kicked Bigshot on his head in the process and scrammed to the balcony. The view was breathtaking and I couldn’t stop myself from taking pictures and enjoying the whitest snow of the season.

The constant peeping through the balcony every once in a while wasn’t helping us to not go out, so we ate our breakfast and put on layers of clothes to protect us from  the cold weather. I even showed everyone in my family the snow through video chat because it doesn’t happen so often in here and I grew up always wanting to see the snow and never having gotten the opportunity to see one. This is my second snow but the excitement was very much the same, maybe even a little higher. There was nobody around when we got out and obviously nobody was as excited as we were about the snow. In fact, people who saw us goofing around in the snow from their home would have probably thought of us to be the two-idiots-who-has-never-seen-snow-in-their-entire-life-and-can’t-act-cool-about-it. And in some photos below, I even look like I’ve been possessed and my hands are working it’s way through it. And if you look closely at every pictures including the post image, you can see my eyes are constantly shut or atleast one of them is shut and I’m still trying to figure out the reason as to why.

As I laid down in the snow to make a snow angel, in that exact moment I didn’t expect to be regretting my action soon, as the snow slowly seeped into my shoes and my jeans and it was melting into cold ice water from my body heat. Towards the end, let’s just say Bigshot became immune to the whole thing of not being cool and started doing everything that I was doing a while back, except maybe for the snow angel part.  Making snow angel, however, was the most surreal part about the whole thing and you can see how much I was enjoying from the picture.

The whole community looked like a humongous globe filled with snow on a clear bright blue sky.  When Bigshot started cleaning the car is when I decidedly to close my eyes and be grateful to have been a part of it. The snow was still there when we woke up on Sunday morning and we spent an hour just looking at it till our stomachs started growling with hunger. It was indeed a beautiful weekend for us! Have a great start to a new week everyone! 🙂
