Yes, that’s the title of today’s post and before I get started on it, I really want to talk about how I forgot to write a post yesterday because I’m currently habituated in spending my mornings reading up and doing other chores instead of sitting in front of my laptop and typing out a rant.
But the main culprit for my foggy brain yesterday was the awful and demented allergy that keeps forcing itself into my body every once in a while. Now before you conclude this horrible virus as something silly and harmless, let me tell you the symptoms and sufferings that comes along with it. The moment it hits your body, you start sneezing every 10 seconds of your life and each time you sneeze a little part of your soul leaves you body, making you feel numb in the inside. Maybe I’m exaggerating but in that time frame when you sneeze 5 times a minute, you’re bound to feel exactly the same. As the sneeze bonanza continues, my nose slowly starts behaving odd, like it has caught the early on-set of PMS. To be precise, the nose becomes irritated, uncomfortable and highly unreliable. Because of which my nose bearly survived all the scratching I had going on that I had a big scar around it the next day morning. When you think you can’t take it any longer and decide to lie down, it just gets worst because the moment you lie down on the right side, the right side of the nostrils will shut down its road and if I turn around to the other side, vice versa. Basically I had to lie on my back like a dead body the entire night yesterday while Bigshot continued using me as his pillow. While the nose behaved strangely and the sneeze manifested by itself, my brain started to fart out what appears to be the constant reminder that it isn’t an allergy but rather a cold and a fever. Believe me, I tried my best to avoid feeling what I felt by trying to get on with my life. Enter Bigshot.
Did I tell you the allergy has come before too and it was a persistent one at it the last time with the same issues which went away the next morning only for Bigshot to assume it as nothing but a small reaction to something like dust or pollen. While I told my parents and his parents the struggles I faced with the allergy, he kept reassuring them that it’s nothing but a small “reaction”. Even though this did not go well with my need to grab some attention and sympathy from my parents, I let it go simply because the next day I was perfectly alright. In fact I laughed along with him the next day morning while we were having our breakfast. Unfortunately, yesterday was all kind of a different story. If the last allergic reaction story was a rom-com material, yesterday’s was a below average rated drama.
As soon as my allergy started, unlike last time, he had to go to office yesterday and we both forgot that it was the starting of it and continued with our day-to-day work. Before he left the office to come home for lunch, this is the conversation Bigshot and I had on the phone.

The ‘haha’ part was strike one. The sneezing left me tired by the end of a simple lunch preparation and pretty soon my nose started reacting completely haywire. As soon as I waved him good bye after the lunch and entered the house, my whole body was completely drained and I literally had no energy to sneeze anymore. With burning watery eyes I left to the bed, only to wake up in the middle of it all to wash and clean the kitchen. Not to forget, by this time, my senses were completely off and my brain had been completely fogged. Bigshot comes back home and as usual within half an hour of his arrival, he had finished his soup and started frantically typing things into his monitor and zoned off into the world where nerds live. Strike two.
I left to the room to sleep it off again because I knew that my brain wasn’t functioning properly. An hour went by and my body was chilly and I couldn’t even lie down without feeling suffocated. As I returned to the living room, Bigshot still had his head stuck inside the monitor and when he came out of it only to ask me “Whether you were sleeping or playing with your phone?” It was strike number three for him. And you would think there are no more strikes in this story, but no, I was feeling quite generous yesterday. I decided to not react to it and went to the kitchen to make energy balls because my body was craving sugar. Bigshot as naive as any men would be, did not notice the change in my body language, change in tone and my facial expression that he went on with his work again.
The man asked “what are our plans for dinner?” after an hour and that blew up my entire brain into tiny pieces, only to be followed by a stream of water flowing out of my eyes. You would think nobody would ever use a sentence like “NOBODY LOVES ME!!” But yesterday I did and while I wept away all the while sneezing, Bigshot who was completely taken aback and not to forget, shocked, consoled me and swaddled me in the couch until I forgave him. Bigshot was quick to learn and the poor guy kept massaging my head, offering to make tea and even cook however as I was successful in grabbing his attention, I declined them all only to end up ordering a pizza. As he slept like a log yesterday, I slept like a literal log and woke up to a better mood and haven’t sneezed yet.
