Oh look what it is, It’s that time of the month again and before you guys jump into any other conclusion, let me say it out loud to avoid any confusion, it’s my monthly Appreciation Diary day! A post dedicated solely to remind myself to be grateful for the small things that I’ve and the things I might take for granted, obviously excluding everything that we as human beings physically and mentally thrive and survive for. March was a spectacular month personally even though we hardly left the house most of the weekends. But, it was a special month and I was excited about a lot ofthings around me.
1) Most surprising and laid-back anniversary celebrations happened this month and I’ve written an entire post talking about how my emotions fluctuated and varied that day like that of a stock market index, which crashed at midnight only to slowly rise up and shift towards the top of the graph. You should read that post if you haven’t!
2) Sunshine. I was exasperated the entire last month due to the gloomy weather and the chilling coldness that had engulfed the entire Greensboro. So as a highly dramatic person who was on the verge of breaking down over the sulky weather, the sun beaming brightly and shining away to glory left me ecstatic. The weather became bearable to get out of the house during March and if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen the Instagram stories where I vividly describe my joy over it.
3) My parents had pampered both Bigshot and I the entire first year of staying here by sending gigantic goodie bags filled with clothes and food items for us. But as a responsible child that I’ve become somewhere along the way or it might be because of the influence of someone I stay with, I made sure they didn’t waste their money, time and energy in buying and sending stuff that we in fact would get in the US itself. I’m proud of the fact that the spoiled brat in me is slowly being sensible but they sent me a beautiful greeting card this time for our anniversary and seeing my parents handwriting and drawings on it gave me fuzzy warm feelings in my heart. Along with my parents, my sis-in-law, Nandu too sent a greeting card and a handwritten letter which was an explosion of sunshine by itself. I believe that getting a handwritten note or letter is the most thoughtful gift that someone can ever receive and I’ll save it in my memory box where I keep everything that I want to cherish forever.
4) I was able to see and enjoy the sunset after an entire season of the year and that was a reviving experience altogether. I saw the sunset first when we had gone out for grocery shopping and now everyday, as I sit in my balcony and see the orange ball looming out of sight. Sun rise is something I would probably want to see next, but like I said before, it would take a village to make me get up from the cozy bed in this beautiful weather now.

5) The malayali in me crave for every food made of or with coconut and one such thing was the coconut water which I badly longed for in the US. As I tried almost all the brands of coconut water available in here, this has been my favorite so far as it taste similar or close to the real coconut water compared to the rest and I’m really glad we found it.
6) Chapstick was a revelation for the 28-year-old this month and the benefits of using a chapstick in a place like this has been a surprising change for this idiot. It all happened by chance when I saw this brand of chapstick on the billing aisle of a supermarket and decided to try one for my dry lips.
7) I’m thankful for the T.V show ‘New Girl’ which was my favorite binge watched shows this month and let’s just say I’ve a crush on Nick Miller played by Jake Johnson whom I’ve officially started to stalk on every single social media platform.
With that disturbing and awkward revelation, I’m ending my appreciation diary for this month. From next month onwards I’m planning to write down everything that I’m grateful on the spot, so that I wouldn’t miss out on mentioning anything at the end of the month. What are you appreciative of this month? I would love to know 🙂 Have a good day/ night, everyone! 🙂

I’m an ordinarily odd person who is pleasant to talk to. When I’m not trying to be funny, I would be lying on the floor bawling my eyes out. I write weird stories, real life snippets, traumatic and dramatic memories along with doses of unsolicited advices. 🙂
