Avantika,
You’re sweeter than the sound of harmonica.
Alas, not much else rhymes with Avantika.
Maybe the comic character, Veronica
She was the best friend to Betty in Archie comics.
Happy Birthday Avantika!
If people reading this haven’t seen FRIENDS, the tv show, I cannot possibly explain to you the story behind this song but what I CAN explain is that it’s my niece’s birthday! This cute little bundle of happiness is turning a year old! Yay! She is turning one-year-old on the 15th and I cannot believe that she is already that many! I’m pretty sure for her it’s just a regular day in her life where she dances to her favorite groovy songs, plays ball with her neighbor friends, entertains her mother and grandparents with her daily shenanigans and even takes her regular daily naps. But what is extra special is the fact that my brother came all the way from Bahrain where he is currently working for the past 2 months to celebrate his daughter’s first birthday! Even though two weeks ago he had mentioned to me his plan to surprise them, however, keeping it a secret was something extremely difficult for me for many reasons. I speak to my parents everyday and whenever they start talking about the birthday preparations and how Kunju won’t be there for her first birthday, I would make a silent squeal of excitement over the phone. When Nandu spoke to me two days back about how it sucked to not have Kunju attend and not be there for her birthday, I changed the topic within a few minutes fearing my outburst. But I successfully kept the secret all along till he arrived yesterday and I was there on the video call within minutes after his arrival to witness the joy and the zing that had filled the house by now.
The person who was most excited about his arrival was Avantika as she touched his face, kissing him and smiling at him the whole time without leaving his side. Well, she has always been like that, happy, cheerful and extremely outgoing. She is just a happy kid with a sassy attitude. As her aunt I haven’t been around her much but when my phone starts giving me warning to make some space so that I can take more unwarranted selfies, I’m unable to remove or transfer her pictures and videos else where. I know she doesn’t care about her 1st birthday more than we make a big deal of it but I hope when she is around 18-years-old she would read this blog if it still exists and understands how much we love her. I also want to write down a few things I want her to read and hopefully understand when she reaches that age.
