Winter is coming. And I mean it’s actually coming to Greensboro and here I was waiting to get out during the beautiful spring season, smelling flowers, rolling around in the lawn and gazing at the sky under a tree, all the while trying to keep my excitement under normal levels. But today, I woke up to a rain and a forecast for snow in the coming week. Not to forget, our anniversary is in another week and the drastic weather change might bring our joy down because if it snows, the possibility to get out of the house will become slim. Now as two lazy, anti-social people, we don’t mind celebrating our anniversary at home as long as we have something to look forward to. When we sit at home, we usually end up watching television or running around the coffee table which we are very much good at. But the void in which ‘Game of Thrones’ has left us in is inevitable and we both have taken the end of the last season of the show pretty hard on us.
Bigshot and I binge watched the entire ‘Game of Thrones’ series till season 6 in an entire month. Last weekend we ended up watching an entire season, which approximately comes up to 10 hours. Bigshot has his favorites in the show like Tyron Lannister and Jon Snow, whereas I lean towards Danearys Targayrian and Arya Stark. Bigshot was the one who was most affected during our ‘Game of Thrones’ marathon when after each season finale, he will go to his shell and question the meaning of life. I’m being dramatic here, but he was pretty blown away by how each story was evolving in each season. Being the weirdo that I’m, I read the entire storyline from the Game of Thrones Wikipedia so that I would be prepared for anything that was going to happen in the show. I read each episode in detail so that I wouldn’t be surprised when I actually watched the show. However, I never spoiled the story fo Bigshot even though I knew everything that was about to happen. Because I’m never a party pooper and I’m never the one who digs a surprise party. Suspense and surprises are clearly not my thing. I always read the entire last page of a book before I start reading it because I want to know how it would end before even starting to read it. If somebody tells me there is a ‘big news’ or ‘surprise’ or shocking revelation’ and start their dramatic explanation of how it all formed, I would ask them to first tell me the big story before narrating from the beginning. I don’t have the time or patience to deal with surprises and shocks. I guess I’m too weak a person to handle anything that I’m unaware of. So again, that brings me back to ‘Game of Thrones’.

The series has ended in the last season at crucial points with mind-boggling scenarios. The story can now go down any direction possible and at this point it has become too much for my small body to handle. As I frantically researched online about the upcoming season 7 in July this year, I read a few fan based storylines and even some solid predictions people are making based on the given facts. All I can say is the three months wait period is going to be tough on us because as we sat down in front of our television yesterday to watch something different, we were both disappointed as well as bored because after watching ‘Game of Thrones’ for an entire month, it feels like nothing can ever replace the show anymore. Maybe Stranger Things but as of now, we are cringing and whining at each other in utter disgust every time we try watching something seemingly interesting. So as I mentioned earlier, our outdoor life and indoor life are currently in a huge crisis, specially when there is an anniversary coming up. So if anybody knows how to manipulate the weather or just let us know of a show that can be as good or remotely close to the Game of Thrones series, please comment down below and let me know. It will be highly appreciated. Until then, its hibernation time in our household and I wish you all beautiful people a happy weekend! 🙂
