Journey to Smokey Mountain and Gatlinburg

This weekend we took an impulsive trip to the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee for the fall colors because last year we had gone to the Grandfather Mountain in NC and I was mesmerized by the beautiful colors of the trees. So we packed everything as usual with tons of unwanted snacks behind the car and started our journey. You see, Bigshot and I have travelled to New York, Atlanta, Washington, Florida and many other places in car and he is a pretty good driver. But the one thing he does is to always treating me like I’m Siri/Google assistant/Cortana while traveling and that is the only time I wish I had more than two hands. His demands are too high and my supply is well, two hands(I told you, I’m not the brightest). He requests me to put a song from a particular movie and while I’m searching through his entire music collection in the phone, he demands for a destination look-up in the map. And finally when I play his song and start searching in the map, he demands for a song change!! He also pretends to act like he is about to doze off just to scare the shit out of me and in his defense I keep staring at him while he drives. So there is that.

Once we reached the mountain terrain it was impossible to stop looking around the entire road, in fact we hoped our neck would rotate in orderly fashion to soak in the beautiful sights. We even made pit stops at some of the places to take in the beautiful weather(it was drizzling) and the view.

By the time we reached Gatlinburg downtown, the host to the smokey mountains, we were tired, starved and drenched in rain that all we wanted was to park our car somewhere and hog food. But the sight we saw there made us forget everything else. The crowd was so cheerful and crazy that we felt like we were part of it. We did not expect the town to take us by surprise and it’s not like we planned anything either, we hardly did our research before starting the trip. The whole town was getting ready for Halloween and AND the town had their own distilled moonshine and wine cellars. People were sampling and tasting moonshine on every corner of a lane and there were music all around us. A lot of my readers had seen my Instagram stories and asked me about it and for those who haven’t seen Gatlinburg downtown and its Halloween vibe, I’ll post some pictures here.

Do online cialis australia not compromise with the time you spend sleeping. And by the time we arrived at the smokey mountain national park to see a few places before calling it a day, we saw a gentleman rancher at the information center. We didn’t know the vastness and the enormity of the place that we assumed there would be just a single waterfall in the entire place. So this is how the conversation went.

Rancher: Hey guys, how can I help you?

Us: Hi, we were wondering where we should go to see the waterfalls?

Rancher(highly confused and looks at us in utter disbelief): Umm… there is one waterfall if you take a trail from here.

Us: (looks at each other like idiots)

Rancher: I can get you a map if you would like?

Us: Oh yes! THANK YOU!

After seeing the map to the entire smokey mountain we came to two conclusions;

1) There were more than twenty waterfalls in the place.

2) We are not prepared for many of the adventure outdoor fun.

3) No humans can cover the entire smokey mountains in a weekend.

So after a brainstorming session right under the national park, we decided to go back to Gatlinburg downtown and have a peaceful dinner and call it a day. And we ended up having this amazing Mexican food and it’s the only picture of the food we had during the entire trip, the rest of the times we were so hungry that the food disappeared the moment it arrived.

But the next day was a day I’ll never forget in my life and I’ll be writing about it in the coming blog post. Since this post is getting way too long for many of my lazy readers I’ll stop rambling for now,haha! Good day/night guys 🙂
