January 2017 – Appreciation Diary

As I dragged my feet out of the bedroom floor today morning after two failed attempts of trying to get out of bed, I felt the urgent need to wash my face in order to regain consciousness. That’s how a monday usually starts for me anyway. And the one thing that I do once I sit down in front of my laptop to write every morning is to look at the date because I feel completely clueless and lost about the things in my life if I’m not aware of the date. Is that just me? So as I checked the date I came to know that tomorrow marks the end of January 2017 and this month will officially be over. I mean, how did it even past by so fast? I remember finishing the entire watermelon off the buffet table at our yacht party for new year’s like it happened yesterday. January was a beautiful month for many reasons and I really don’t know if I’ll continue writing appreciation diary every month but today I feel like writing down few things I’m grateful for this month. The things that made me happy, whether small or big and the things that I forget to appreciate in my day-to-day life.

1) This year Bigshot and I was able to celebrate New Year’s eve in a Yacht filled with people sharing the same enthusiasm as we do, to welcoming in a new year which badly needs a lot of hope, kindness and grace to survive everything that’s been happening around us. I don’t know what the future holds for us but I’m happy that I went out and had a fun time in the starting of 2017.

2) My dad celebrated his birthday this month and it was the first time he had put on a party hat and cut his cake. Eventhough I wasn’t able to be a part of the celebrations, the pictures of my dad enjoying his birthday gave me so much of joy.

3) Speaking of birthdays, somebody extremely special to me also celebrated her birthday this month and if you have read my post on it, you would know I’m talking about my niece, Avantika who turned one-year-old. I’m so grateful to have that cute lil thing to be a part of our lives.

4) Greensboro had it’s first and probably the last share of snow for one whole day in January and I couldn’t have been more excited. I made a snow angel for crying out loud. 🙂

5) This month a new member came into our household named, Baudelaire, who has replaced Christopher for the time being and even though I’m extremely grateful for Christopher for always being there for us this past one year I’m however elated to have Baudelaire be a part of our lives and making it much easier for us to have access to drinking water.
