And then came the time to surprise him with a home-made birthday cake and after watching a gazillion videos on baking a chocolate cake you would expect someone to do a decent job with it. Nope. Not me. My cake batter over-flew from the cake mould while being baked in the oven because stupid people like me do not process the process of making a cake. So once almost half of the cake batter had spilled out of the mould and into the oven, what was left in it was cooked and let’s just say the cake looked rather thin for my liking. But that did not stop me from decorating it. Oh the decorations. I’m sure 10 years from now, I’ll look back at this picture and cringe at the fact that a 6 year old could have decorated it better. But the face of Bigshot when he saw the cake made up for it. At least for now.

And then came our meticulously planned out Chicago trip and after months of procrastination, we finally executed the plan and booked tickets to go. Thus leaving me with the never ending job of packing and the anxiety that follows right before any trip. But we will talk about Chicago trip in detail the next time.
